ASUCSD Petition for More Student Parking

Many of the Undergraduate Student parking spaces have gradually been vanishing even though they are constantly full while many other parking spaces, usually Visitors and “B” spaces are always available. Often this leads undergraduate students to park in overflow parking or drive around aimlessly looking for parking spaces, emitting more CO2 emissions. Not to mention, many students, especially those living on campus, are forced to park far from their desired location or home on campus and walk in dimly lit areas late at night. This safety hazard also limits many students’ off campus experiences because they feel they can’t even leave campus as they run the risk of not finding a parking spot when they return. Many students are also late to classes due to this inconvenience. This petition is designed to show the frustration of the parking situation on campus in hopes for immediate replacement of our lost “S” spaces, because who pays $600 a year to not even have a parking spot?
