New Counter Cultured Article: Big Gov’t Has No Right to Measure Female Worth Via Birth Control

I’ve penned a new column at Counter Cultured titled, “Dear Big Government: Birth Control Doesn’t Measure Our Worth.”

Here’s an excerpt:

On Monday, the Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS) issued a landmark ruling that put a muzzle on the contraception mandate contained in Obamacare. This is a small but important victory for religious liberty and limited government.

Per usual, abortionistas decried this ruling as the end of women’s rights. (Cue the melodrama! The death of womankind is upon us!) They decried, “Get my employer out of my bedroom!” while simultaneously begging our government to fund their sexual escapades. One gal–Guardian U.S.’s Jessica Valenti—even suggested that women “should organize a safe-sex f***-in at every Hobby Lobby across the country.” (Gross.)

If this is what passes for female empowerment today, our gender has truly been set back.

New ObamaCare Ambassador Lance Bass of NSYNC Fame Isn’t a Bad Sport

lbtYou know you’re a political junkie when a 90s heartthrobs tweets you responding to a political tweet…

After I tweeted a promo video for an upcoming episode of The Dana Show featuring comedian Steven Crowder mocking Lance Bass’ visit to the White House on ObamaCare, the singer himself tweeted back and thought Crowder’s portrayal of him was funny. Unlike other leftist celebrities, Lance didn’t hurl attacks nor was he abrasive.

Kudos to Mr. Bass for having a good sense of humor. Maybe he’ll reconsider his support for ObamaCare?

Update: I was mentioned in The Blaze.

Ugh…Terry McAwful to Be Sworn in As Governor of Virginia Today

Today marks a sad day in Virginia’s history. Terry McAuliffe, infamous carpetbagger and former DNC chairman, will be inaugurated as the next governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia today at noon. McAuliffe has never held any office. Additionally, this is the first time in 40 years that Democrats control all top positions in Richmond.

I also tweeted this about Inauguration Day:

The Left attributes McAuliffe’s win to former Va. Attorney Generatl Ken Cuccinelli’s “extreme” views on social issues:

Saturday’s ceremony marks the first time in a quarter-century that Democrats will hold all three of the state’s top elective posts: governor, lieutenant governor and attorney general.

Larry Sabato, director of the Center for Politics at the University of Virginia, said Republicans could learn from McAuliffe’s victory if they want to win competitive swing states like Virginia and take back the White House.

“Just about everyone realizes that Terry McAuliffe won mainly because Ken Cuccinelli’s positions, especially on social issues, were too far to the right for a moderate swing state,” Sabato said.

In actuality, McAuliffe basically bought the election with $15 million dollars’ worth of negative ads defaming Cuccinelli. Politico also notes that McAuliffe barely won the election as the failed Obamacare roll out started to materialize:

The main news stories of the last two weeks of the race were about the botched rollout of the health exchanges and troubling revelations about people getting kicked off their health plans.

Cuccinelli called the off-year election a referendum on Obamacare at every stop during the final days.

“Despite being outspent by an unprecedented $15 million, this race came down to the wire because of Obamacare,” Cuccinelli said in his concession speech Tuesday night.

So who will be leading the Commonwealth of Virginia for the next four years?

Woman #1: “So as governor, would you oppose any restrictions on my right to an abortion at any time?”McAuliffe: “Yes.”

Woman #1: “No, Yes?”

McAuliffe:“I would support stopping any restrictions.”

And then to remove any doubt, he told another woman that as governor he would be a “brick wall” against even the most common ground limitations on abortion.

Woman #2: “Also, if any anti-choice Republicans were to introduce legislation preventing me from getting an abortion after 20 weeks would you oppose it?”

McAuliffe: “So you have a Constitutional right. This has been determined in our nation. It is a Constitutional right. It is. What I said here is that I will be a brick wall to stop any erosion of any Constitutional right that any woman has in Virginia. I will be a brick wall.”

A guy who’s currently under federal investigation by the SEC.

A guy who’s in favor of bankrupting Virginia through Medicaid expansion.

A guy who favors Obamacare.

A guy who dislikes the Second Amendment and appointed a gun control loon to his transition team. (Mind you, Virginia is predominately pro-gun.)

A guy who’ll bypass Virginia law to impose gay marriage. (The Marshall-Newman Amendment, or Virginia Marriage Amendment to preserve traditional marriage, passed overwhelming in 2006 with 57% of the vote.)

A guy who left his wife in the car to attend Democrat fundraisers after she gave birth to their kids on numerous occasions.

Thank goodness for term limits in Virginia. (Governors are limited to one, four-year term.) This guy will undoubtedly abuse the office and attempt to pass legislation that puts Virginia towards the path of regression.

We must monitor this guy like a hawk. Maybe one of his scandals will creep up on him? We can only hope. Whether or not you live here in Virginia, watch what goes on in Richmond very closely.

In the meantime, hide your income, hide your guns, hide your babies, fellow Virginians…Scary Terry’s reign is about to commence.

Newly updated Governor of Virginia Facebook page misspells Virginia as “Virgina”.

This is not surprising coming from a guy who only up until recently learned about the basic functions and rules of Virginia’s government. (h/t VA Black Conservatives to taking the screen shot)

Twitchy reported on the Virginia misspelling found on the Governor of Virginia Facebook page.

I’m *Officially* Published!

Yesterday, the paperback edition of “Young, Conservative and Why It’s Smart to Be Like Us” became available on Amazon.

1505564_10152086116287668_1287118706_nI was one of 14 young conservatives to author chapters on why we identify with conservatism. Back in April, our stories were made available in e-book format. I chose to write about my family history and how it inspires me to advance conservative policies.

My thoughts on being *officially* published? It feels great to see my work and that of my friends/fellow activists published in book form. (For those of you wondering: Yes, I want to write a few books in the future that center around conservative politics and history. It’ll require vast amounts of reading and gaining more wisdom. Until then, I’ll stick with grassroots activism and blogging.)

Over these last four years, I’ve honed my conservative beliefs and grown disenchanted by both major parties. Even as a registered Republican, I’m inclined to criticize Republican politicians whenever they fall out of line with conservatism. (Criticism is healthy, and our guys should be held accountable too.) In my view, conservatism – not establishment Republican ideals – is the only way forward.

I hope my story inspires other young conservatives to speak out and encourage our peers to get involved. We can’t discount our generation, especially with countless disaffected former Obamanites looking for guidance following the disastrous Obamacare roll out. We can win over members of our generation with conservative ideas and policies.

At 22, I’m quite proud of my many accomplishments at such a young age. I hope my story and my actions motivate others to find their voice and get involved.

Looking for the perfect Christmas present? Get your family members “Young, Conservative and Why It’s Smart to Be Like Us”!

New Counter Cultured Column: Terry McAuliffe Wants Virginian Women to Submit to Big Government

I’ve penned a new column at Counter Cultured just in time for Election Day here in Virginia. My family and I will be voting for Ken Cuccinelli for Governor, E.W. Jackson for Lieutenant Governor, Mark Obenshain for Attorney General, and Brian Wolfe for Fairfax County Sheriff.

Below is an excerpt from my column criticizing Terry McAuliffe’s misogynist views and crusade for big government:

Tomorrow is Election Day here in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Many of you have seen me comment, tweet, and write about the gubernatorial race in great detail. (Disclaimer: I’m a Ken Cuccinelli supporter and have been since he launched his campaign in Summer 2012.) This race is important for our state, and its outcome will have an impact nationwide.

A win for Cuccinelli is a win for freedom; a win for McAuliffe is a win for big government.

Much to the dismay of Terry McAuliffe and his surrogates, Ken isn’t an extremist or a woman-hater. On the contrary, Ken is pro-woman–more pro-woman than McAuliffe could ever claim to be.

It’s November in Virginia: Vote Ken Cuccinelli and the Rest of the Ticket

Can’t believe it’s already November…Within a few days, those of us here in Virginia will be voting for our next governor. This race not only matters to our state; it matters to this country. There is one candidate who is a Washington outsider, constitutional conservative, and defender of freedom. That man is Ken Cuccinelli. (I will have two more posts here before Election Day explaining my support for Cuccinelli.)

What about McAuliffe and Sarvis?

Terry McAuliffe is a big government, cronyist stooge eager to turn Virginia into California or New York. He models his policies after the Clintons and President Obama. He’s currently under several federal investigations too. He’s pro-woman? Quite the contrary. He left his wife and newborn kids in the car to go raise millions of dollars for the DNC; and he recently declared getting an abortion after 20 weeks is a constitutional right. The guy is as corrupt as they come.

Robert Sarvis is a moderate progressive masquerading as a libertarian. This guy ran for office in 2011 as a Republican, lost, and is bitter. Heck, he even campaigned saying he’d model himself after Cuccinelli. In several recent interviews, Sarvis revealed that he likes higher taxes (i.e., gas mileage tax), Medicaid expansion, no regulations on abortion clinics, and is in favor of mainstream economics (not much of a free marketeer). A vote for Sarvis is a vote for McAuliffe.

This is not a repeat of 2012. Cuccinelli has never flip-flopped on issues, and he was the first Attorney General to file an injunction against ObamaCare. He has stood up to the federal government on numerous occasions.

Fellow Virginia voters: Please vote smart. Vote for limited government – vote for Cuccinelli and the rest of the ticket.
